RE:Collecting

With the exhibition 'RE:Collecting' curators Hélène Webers & Mels Evers present hidden stories from corporate collections, with new and existing works of art by Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Marlene Dumas, Ryan Gander, Erik van Lieshout, Navid Nuur and Nicky Zwaan.

In the museum presentation at Singer Laren, works of art are shown that have undergone a transformation in form or meaning. Archive material gives the visitor insight into the history of the work of art within the collection. The presentation was developed in collaboration with exhibition designer Edi Winarni.

Besides, new artworks by Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Erik van Lieshout and Navid Nuur are presented at a public location within a radius of 30 kilometers from Singer Laren. The curators approached the artists to reflect on an existing work of art from the company collection and to translate this into a new work of art outside the walls of the company.

More information about the exhibition and the new artworks in the public area is available at: www.re-collecting.com.

Establishing Eden at Pathé Rembrandt

In 'Establishing Eden' Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács focus on the 'establishing shot': the moment when a landscape is defined and becomes a protagonist. The locations of, among others, the film series 'Lord of the Rings' have been re-photographed and incorporated in a perpetual landscape shot. Establishing Eden' can be seen from 4 to 10 April 2019 as a short film prior to all main movies at Pathé Rembrandt in Utrecht.
